See What Aromas Are Most Popular… or Make a Request!
SensoryCo clients have very specific visions for their experiential projects that involve the sense of smell; whether for live or simulated training, experiential marketing, exhibits, virtual or augmented spaces, product brand launch or live events. They expect the scent to be true to smell, the cartridge to have a measured length of time, and a means to scale distribution using SensoryCo scent machines. SensoryCo tests each and every aroma (smell, scent, odor, malodor, or fragrance) that we create to make sure the tone and profile is as authentic as possible to the smell’s origin. All scents carry qualities like smoky, fresh, earthy, floral or animalic notes.

Note: SensoryCo scent cartridges are categorized into application areas to assist our clients in determining the best scents for their particular experience. SensoryCo has divided these categories into Chemical, Environmental, Natural, Food, Spice, & Medical. For pricing differentiation, we have scents classified as Regular, TS and SP odors and malodors.
Our fragrance descriptors are derived of the same subjective taste and smell experiences that are influenced by personal experiences, memories of smells, and individual tastes. In addition to aromatic bouquets, we also produce putrid odors. These smells (or malodors) are tough to sample but we work with industry experts to classify and categorize for use mostly in live or simulated training. Thus, the scent cartridges that are used in our scent machines are, in essence, multidimensional.
Understanding Scent Profiles
The power of scent is one of our most significant senses. Our olfactory systems can, literally, sniff out memories, impact our taste, and create real ambient scenarios. SensoryCo takes great care in the formulation of our scent cartridges so that the nose of every aroma smells as authentic as possible. The definition of basic smells varies with descriptions (notes) ranging from nutty and woody to chemical and pungent, to fruity, and citrusy. Basic smells also are classified by their relation to taste: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and unami.
What is a Scent Profile
A scent profile or “personality” describes olfactory families categorized to identify and explore diverse smells and their characteristics. Typically, scent profiles are placed in categories like floral, wood, amber and fresh to start, then further broken down into more specific groups.
What Creates a Scent’s Note
- Top notes are smells that can be sensed immediately. Ingredients that give off these notes consist of small molecules that evaporate quickly.
- Middle notes appear when top notes start dissipating. They consist of the majority smell of any aroma or odor. These notes are usually more mellow and are sensed anywhere between 2 minutes to an hour.
- Base notes bring depth and solidity to a scent and their odor lasts the longest. They appear when middle tones start disappearing and can last up to 24 hours. Molecules of ingredients that are used for base notes evaporate very slowly and their scents are usually rich and strong.
